In The Shadows To The Left

Rex: 'But in fact the secret entrance is to the left, hidden in the shadows.
Buzz: To the left and in the shadows. Got it.'

And so begins our journey of discovery of the current course of the U.S. Government. I have been thinking about this one for quite some time, and have been hesitant to actually write it. The hesitation is there because I will be speaking about some Scriptural passages in The Book of Mormon, I want to be sure nobody feels like I’m trying to push my religion, and also because I don’t want to be a conspiracy loon. But, here goes.

I have thought often, especially in the past while, about secret combinations. Secret combinations were the principle drivers in the destruction of several ancient American societies. They were started by those whose primary purpose was the attainment of power and riches. They were called secret, because well ,they were formed and practiced in secret (shadows/darkness). They were called combinations because a group of these power seekers get all wrapped up together through deal making and secret oaths.

The first secret combination existed between Cain and the devil himself. Since that time the temptation to promote and prosper this kind of behavior has been rampant among those who lust after power and gain. Secret combinations are addressed in the Book of Mormon, which contains a religious and historical account of the ancient Americas.
It is recorded that a few power hungry leaders, set out to make secret oaths in order to gain control over once free peoples. This occurred in several instances, each with disastrous results and finally with the loss of whole civilizations.

The secret combinations were outliers at first. They started to infest surrounding lands, then the cities themselves. But, when it really got dangerous is when they started infesting the governments.

The highest members of the secret combinations basically set themselves up as Oligarchies. What the flip is an Oligarchy? It is basically a group tyranny. The people are ruled by an elite few.

These few worked in secret, in the shadows at first. They reveled in chaos and were not above causing it. Then they became more prominent and gained political respect. The people followed like sheep to the slaughter which was eventually their fate.

So, are there secret combinations today? I contend that there are. Think of the inner workings of groups like the mob, or gangs, or terrorist cells. They operate in secret. An elite few rule subjugated masses. These lower pawns take a pounding at the behest of the leaders they have sworn allegiance to. Yes, they exist and they are exacting a terrible price.

But, an even more pertinent question, with an even dire answer is: do the secret combinations exist in the government? At the risk of being labeled a nutjob conspiracy theorist I think we are certainly at the very least trending that way. We are looking more and more like an Oligarchy.

How many times do we here comments like "we want our leaders to be smarter and better than us."? When did it become a requirement for our leaders to be super-heroes. Our founders viewed public servants to be ordinary Americans, with good intentions and yes some capability. Woodrow Wilson was famously nicknamed "the Professor" as President. It seems like ever since then it's like some requirement to be Ivy League educated. We need smarter people than us to rule over the dumb masses. I think there are many in government as well as in the media who honestly believe they are just smarter than the majority of Americans, and thus have some mandate to take care of/rule over us.

There are these political circles and good ol boys clubs within our government. Backroom deals are made. Votes are cast without any thought, or even attempts at reading bills. Its all based on favors to lobbyists and other politicians. Why would listening to the people be important? Our leaders are smarter than the rest of us. Look at the way Washington outsiders are treated, regardless of what party. Character assassination/defamation/destruction is like standard operating procedure. Citizens “melt the phones” on issues and yet our representatives just vote which ever way suits them and their political agendas best.

The mainstream media is complicit and culpable in this. They, the smart and arrogant few, tell us what to think without giving us all the information. The ancient American societies did not know the truth because the secret combinations would not allow them to hear it. And that is what it feels like today.

I don't know that we are an Oligarchy yet. There are millions upon millions of freedom loving Americans waking up to what is going on. But, it is where the government seems to be trending unless they can be put in check.

Oligarchy is Tyranny, which is on the left of the ideological spectrum. Democrat or Republican, it doesn't matter. These days it seems they are just left and farther left. They are marching to the same elite few meme. They have been working in shadow, but it seems to be coming more to light now. The thing about bringing things to light is it makes the differences quite clear. We do have to be aware and cautious about zealots on the right. Anarchy is the farthest right. Tyranny rather likes Anarchy because Tyranny breeds well off of chaos. Chaos leads some people desperate for control, and even willing to hand over freedom in order to get a sense of security (no matter if the reality is false).

I don't know if what I'm writing about makes that much sense so, I turn again to Toy Story 2 "Just like you said lizard man, 'In the shadows to the left.'" I also go to the definitive source in the Book of Mormon, Moroni, who witnessed the destruction of his own people at the hand of secret combinations

Ether 8: 22-26
And whatsoever nation shall uphold such secret combinations, to get power and gain, until they shall spread over the nation, behold, they shall be destroyed; for the Lord will not suffer that the blood of his saints, which shall be shed by them, shall always cry unto him from the ground for vengeance upon them and yet he avenge them not.
Wherefore, O ye Gentiles, it is wisdom in God that these things should be shown unto you, that thereby ye may repent of your sins, and suffer not that these murderous combinations shall get above you, which are built up to get power and gain -- and the work, yea, even the work of destruction come upon you, to your overthrow and destruction if ye shall suffer these things to be.
Wherefore, the Lord commandeth you when ye shall see these things come among you that ye shall awake to a sense of your awful situation, because of this secret combination which shall be among you; or wo be unto it, because of the blood of them who have been slain; for they cry from the dust for vengeance upon it, and also upon those who built it up.
For it commeth to pass the whoso buildeth it up seeketh to overthrow the freedom of all lands, nations and countries; and it bringeth to pass the destruction of all people, for it is built up by the devil, who is the father of all lies;

Well, there you have it. Only in a wierd mind like mine could you mix Toy Story and the Book of Mormon and come to a conclusion. Kind of gives you warm fuzzies all over right?

How do we stop what may be a secret combination in the government and media? We bring it fully out into the light. Let them know we see them, by letting our voices be heard. Be civil and be truthful. The greatest victories can be won with peaceful declarations of truth. Vote out questionable characters and seek out honest true public servants.

I have great hope that we are not yet a people ripe for destruction. I believe the majority of Americans are good, honest, freedom loving people. We just need to do as Moroni suggested, awake to our situation, and then do something about it. We the People still have the freedom to win back and uphold our Republic. It’s a sacred responsibility.

In Response

I'm sure I'm not alone in stewing over this latest ethics nonsense. Well, if something stews for too long, it eventually has to let off steam. I posted this over at www.conservatives4palin.com and decided to post it here as well.

I'm not someone who gets angry easily. But, there is one thing that usually gets to me, injustice. Governor Sarah Palin has been so mistreated by so many, that I have found myself getting angry far more often than I would like. By the way prayer is a good tool for assisting in alleviating the anger.

This latest nonsense is wrong on many levels. But, there is one issue that bothers me above all else, the breach in confidentiality. I am a Mental Health Counselor by profession. Confidentiality is absolutely paramount in the counselor/client relationship. A breach in confidentiality is an assault on trust. Once that is gone the relationship is good for nothing.

It is very obvious to me why confidentiality was important in this matter. It was an ongoing investigation. The report was a preliminary opinion. That opinion than can be challenged and further investigation can proceed. It is obvious by statements from Sarah Palin and Kristan Cole that the investigation is continuing. The breach in confidentiality at this point, undermines the whole investigation. It is also obvious in the report that there has been no ethics violation; the Governor has not touched the money in the fund. The suggestion by the media that she has done anything unethical is contrary to the report that they have unethically brought to light.

Kim Chatman, an individual who touts herself as a champion for ethics has exposed herself as completely unethical. She claims that she was not the source of the leak to the AP. That to me is a clever way of covering up her lack of ethics. Kim, you told somebody that is obvious. Confidentiality does not just mean don't tell the media, it means keep it to yourself. Your abuse of the system and your unethical behavior may have cost your state over half a million dollars. All because of a political agenda. Your Governor did not want the state to foot the bill. You may have forced that to occur.

To Rachel D'Oro and the MSM as a whole. Were a counselor guilty of violating confidentiality the way you have, that counselor would be stripped of their license and have to find a new career. You have exposed yourself as completely unethical. All for the sake of continuing your agenda of the destruction of a woman for some reason you find threatening. I hold an unconditional positive regard for humanity and individuals, and still maintain that view even for media members. However, you have lost something that I'm sure will not matter to you in the slightest, my respect, or what little I had left. It can be earned back but will take a lot of honest effort.

The media repeatedly violates the trust the public places in them. If they cannot be trusted to maintain confidentiality they cannot be trusted with information as a whole.

That Sarah Palin is made out to be some perpetrator of unethical behavior sickens me. This meme is spread by those whose unethical behavior screams out to any reasonable thinker. It is unjust. Such an egregious act as violating confidentiality should have a just recompense. Again a counselor would be stripped of their license. I'm not sure what can be done in the matter. So, I'm left disheartened and disappointed and saddened by the state of affairs we now find ourselves.

God bless Sarah Palin and her family. May they continue to be sustained. God bless Alaska, I truly wish the best for that beautiful state. God bless America, may some sanity and respect for moral and ethical decency be restored.

Go Sarah!

Yes, I know another video. But, I get a kick out of it. I am working on another post about something that rhymes with smorlogarchy.

Enjoy the video, countdown to the beginning of a new journey for Sarah Palin.

Flower Power

I’ve figured it out! I know how to stop the devastating effects of climate change. I mean it’s a good thing I came along when I did. All the climate change that happened previously in mother earths long illustrious history did not do nearly as much damage as the current catastrophic warming, I mean cooling, I mean change will do to us and our posterity. This is the time for FLOWER POWER.

It’s all about Carbon right? Carbon emissions, carbon footprints, carbon paper, carbon with a side of Oxide. No make that 2 sides of Oxide.

What brainiac Climate Change scientists seem to have failed to either realize or disseminate to the public is that the emissions they are talking about are not just Carbon, but the ultimate planet destroyer of Carbon Dioxide, also known more simply as CO2. It’s really scary stuff.

It turns out that when human beings breathe in they breathe oxygen, but when they breathe out, they expel CO2. Stupid humans! Can you imagine how much better the planet would be without the human maggot infestation?! And don’t even get me started on the ridiculous amounts of animals we have roaming around spewing their noxious CO2.

Thank nature though, we have beautiful beautiful plant life. Plants will save us. In their generous self-sacrificing ways, the plants ingest the CO2 and then again in an act of profound mercy release oxygen for animal life. Plant life is thus the true life source of the beautiful planet.

We are not yet in a position to dispose completely of animal life, though Justice Ginsberg's recent comments were certainly illuminating. So, we thus have to find a reasonable alternative.

I suggest all animal life be required to carry a plant everywhere they go. They will thus provide beauty (that hardly exists when they are alone) and also cancel out their noxious CO2.

Can you imagine how lovely it would be for cows, instead of bells around their necks, to carry a potted plant in a carefully crafted container so they cannot eat it (filthy vermin). It would certainly be a start. Plant life could save us all.

Of course there would have to be a heavy tax on replacement plants. That money could go to all sorts of wonderful things, like Flower Power Health Care or Flower Power Redistribution of Wealth. Shout with glee for plants!

(sarcasm off)

Seriously now, I do believe in being good stewards of our planet. Pollution should be minimilized, in a safe and secure manner (physically and economically), littering is definitely bad. I even use a tote when I go shopping (though I confess I don't always remember). I love this planet including the amazing vegetation. God in His glory created an planet with an amazing system to keep both us (and all animals) alive, as well as plant life alive. It’s way cool, and deserves to be respected, but not idolized.

The "climate change" scare is ridiculous. Does the climate change? Yep, today had a different temperature than yesterday. Does it change over time? Yes, its called history of the planet. Global warming/cooling/climate change is a tactic used for money and control. I would not be surprised though to one day get a package from the government with a potted plant I have to carry around my neck all day.

Manajordan Goes To Washington

Today as I was looking at some of the websites talking about the march in Washington on September 12th, thinking about how cool it would be to go, it hit me like a ton of bricks. Well, if you think it would be cool why don't you go?! So, my flight is booked, and I'm extending an open invitation to anybody else who wants to go also. It's time for our voices to be heard.

God Bless

Eugenics

As if I have not had enough punches to the gut from politics today I read this admission of what abortion is really all about. It comes from Justice Ginsburg of the Supreme Court. I hope it spreads like wildfire. I want her to be asked specifically which "populations" she was referring to.

From World Net Daily

In an astonishing admission, U.S. Supreme Court
Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg says she was under the impression that legalizing abortion with the 1973 Roe. v. Wade case would eliminate undesirable members of the populace, or as she put it "populations that we don't want to have too many of."

[...]

Question: Are you talking about the distances women have to travel because in parts of the country, abortion is essentially unavailable, because there are so few doctors and clinics that do the procedure? And also, the lack of Medicaid for abortions for poor women?

Ginsburg: Yes, the ruling about that surprised me. [Harris v. McRae – in 1980 the court upheld the Hyde Amendment, which forbids the use of Medicaid for abortions.] Frankly I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don't want to have too many of. So that Roe was going to be then set up for Medicaid funding for abortion. Which some people felt would risk coercing women into having abortions when they didn't really want them. But when the court decided McRae, the case came out the other way. And then I realized that my perception of it had been altogether wrong.

History Lessons #4

Some of the most historically significant lessons we need to remember are the ones that take place in our own personal lives.

I have, particularly of late, been doing quite a bit of soul searching. This has included prayer and even fasting. I want to know what path I should take in my life. I want to do what God wants me to do.

One such recent search turned up some surprising and yet personally significant results. I was reminded that no matter what paths my life might take I must stay firmly planted in my personal foundations. I was also reminded of how important powerful and peaceful experiences can serve as points of inspiration and perspective.

My personal foundations are God, family, country and service. It is absolutely necessary that these remain priorities for me. For when they are lined up correctly the field of vision is exactly what it should be.

God blesses those who obediently seek them with powerful spiritual experiences that serve as reminders of who we individually are, and what business we ought to be about. Moments when we are at peace with God and with ourselves. Times when we are touched by the reality that we are not just in His hands but in His arms. We are blessed with moments of loving and fun times with family and friends. All these serve as reminders and highlights as we trudge through the walk that is mortality. They are the experiences that we can draw on when the battle gets rough. Vistas make the valleys length, breadth and purpose clear.

History teaches us the importance of remembering and learning from experience. As we draw upon our personal histories we ought to remember who we are, and where we should be heading. Our personal foundations will keep us strong and steady as we head there.

God Bless
Sarah Emily Jordan

History Lessons #3

Okay, this one is actually about going against historical precedence.

I love the United States Constitution. It is an amazing document, that is a light source for any people determined to maintain freedom. It has within it a process of amendment which is carefully laid out and wisely hard to carry out.

There has been only one way in which an amendment to the Constitution has been proposed and then passed. The proposed amendment passes through both legislative houses by a 2/3 majority. Then it has gone to the states for a vote. This is the predence.

But, what if we were to go farther back into history then just the precedence set in the amendment process. If we go back to the actual document we find there another way to propose and then pass an amendment. A Constitutional Convention can be called for by 2/3 of the legislatures of the States. At that Convention the amendment(s) can be proposed and then taken to the states for a 3/4 majority vote.

Why would I propose such a thing? Well, it's because the amendment I would like to see to the Constitution is term limits for federal Senators and Representatives. Why would those who hold those positions vote to end their long reigns? The answer is a whole lot of them wouldn't. So, I propose that it is not only a viable but perhaps the best way to go about proposing this amendment, for such a process to start at the state level.

The proposal itself would necessarily need some specific guidelines beyond just the term limits. The reason that voting in our Representatives was such an important part of the Constitution was because it made them accountable to the citizens they represent. If they did not represent you well you would just vote them out. But, the political machine seems so entrenched now. You don't need the publics confidence as much as you just need money either personally or from higher up sources. A good friend of mine, a teacher, (shout out to Ranae) made the awesome suggestion of including performance pay as an option to keep them more accountable to us, the people they represent. Performance pay is something Government officials keep trying to shove at teachers:)

Anyway, such a proposal would have to take into account a lot of important points of consideration. But, I do think it's about time we look at reforming the way that the House of Reps and the Senate are run. The founders never envisioned it to be a club resting on the laurels of our taxes. The time might be ripe for the amendment process to go through the states, as there are many states now seriously envoking their 10th Amendment rights.

It would be hard, but most things of great historical significance are. Wouldn't it be awesome!

History Lessons #2

Illegal Immigration. This is by far the one subject that has been hardest for me to find my political opinion footing on. On other issues I knew exactly where I stood and why. But, this one has been an ongoing search for me largely due to personal experience and interaction with the immigrant population here in the U.s. I have outlined before my current position on the subject defined in context of the principles of justice and mercy. I absolutely believe that the immigration laws must be enforced. Justice, the law, must be adhered to for a whole host of reasons, one of which is that when justice is not fully served mercy cannot be fully meted out by those to whom the responsibility lies, the people.

My stand on illegal immigration is also influenced by historical perspective. I believe there are two things that the Government could do that would guarantee a massive influx of illegal migration into the U.S. One of those things is to declare amnesty. We have already seen the result of this. President Reagan tried this tactic and the result was as I said a massive migration. This massive migration I think contributed to the lack of mercy that many Americans feel towards our neighbors to the south. It was a mistake and it ought not to be repeated.

The other thing I think that would bring about a massive influx of illegal immigration is the construction of a wall. I am well aware that this is where I disagree with a lot of Conservatives. But, I feel strongly that building a wall, or even the threat of building a wall is just not a good viable option for solving the problem of illegal immigration right now.

We have historical precedence for wall building. It's called East Germany and Berlin specifically. I know that the situations are different, but we still have some lessons we can learn. When people want a different, better life they will do whatever they can to get that. As control in East Germany became more iron fisted, the people left in droves. After the wall was built, people still crossed it, with one extra caveat, more people died.

I know that I have heard that those places where a barrier has been built illegal immigration has decreased in U.S. border towns. I'm sure that is true. But, what I would like to find is the data from the next town over. People are still coming.

Here is what I propose, a systematic immigration reformation. First step is to enforce the laws that are already on the books. We then need to give ourselves a time frame to examine if just the mere enforcement of the laws will do the trick. If not we make ONE, count them ONE, change. We then analyze the effectiveness of that change and move on to the next proposed change if needed and so on and so forth. One of the problems that Government seems to make over and over again is throwing a bunch of supposed solutions at a problem. If the problem gets solved, okay, but which solution did it? You have perhaps wasted a bunch of time and resources that were unneccesary. If the problem doesn't get solved you have definitely wasted time and resources.

I know that this sounds like it might be a long process. But, I think any problem worth solving is worth solving right. I do not completely rule out the building of a wall at some long future time if nothing else seems to work. But, for right now I'm pretty locked in my position that it is a bad idea.

These I think are important points, and would help to solidify the position of justice on the matter. I have said it before and will say it again here. If justice can be satisfied the hearts of the most compassionate citizens on the planet will again be open to helping our southward neighbor. The mercy of the people will go alot farther in helping Mexico become a better more livable place than any Government assistance. It is a beautiful country full of beautiful lovely people and deserves our compassion and warmth.

In the end, if handled properly the solution of the illegal immigration here in the U.S. could historically be a marker for others to look to and to follow.

History Lessons #1

(I've had quite a few thoughts about historical precedence and what that teaches us about our time. Most of the things I have thought about are not really all that related to each other, so I decided to separate some historical thoughts into smaller posts.)

Some of the greatest most spiritually uplifting moments in the history of the world have been accompanied by some of the most evil acts. It is an unfortunate reality that as God manifests His merciful arm, the adversary tries to flex his limited yet powerful muscles too.

I think of Moses, the great prophet of the Old Testament, revered by Jews and Christians alike. He was destined to be sent forth to free God's people. But, at the time of his birth the wicked Pharaoh ordered the slaughter of innocent children.

Christ's birth, truly one of the greatest moments historically, was also accompanied by a similar evil. Wicked and tyrannical king Herod ordered the deaths again of innocent children.

Today, we live in what Ephesians 1:10 calls "the dispensation of the fulness of times." That is we are preparing for the return of the King. We stand on the precipice of the greatest age, when peace will reign. It is unsurprising that at such an amazing historical time the devil and all his minions have unleashed upon this age yet another slaughter of the innocent. But, just because it is unsurprising does not mean we ought to stand by and apathetically watch it happen.

Couched in promises of freedom political leaders have convinced millions that to truly be free they must be immune from consequences and responsibility. How evil to trade a life for a vote in order to gain power, how tyrannical.

One day with clarity of truth all will look back on abortion as the abomination it truly is.

I know Christ is coming again. I know that one day I will have to stand before Him and make an accounting of my life. I want to be able to be in His presence with a pure heart and clean hands. I want to be able to tell Him with confidence and humility that I did my part to fight against evil in this world. Whatever I can do to help the pro-life cause in a meaningful way I will do.

A Sport Psychology Perspective

I love sports analogies; they just make sense to me. Why do I like them? Well that’s an easy answer, it’s because I am a big sports fan. In fact I like sports so much that I actually got a degree in it, Sport Psychology to be exact. Most of my work these days consists of general mental health counseling, but I do get the experience of working with athletes from time to time, and freely admit that those are some of my most enjoyable sessions.
I am currently preparing to teach a Sport Psychology seminar. While I’ve been prepping I keep thinking about how much some of these principles apply to Sarah Palin’s career and current situation. So, I thought I’d share them and would love to get other’s opinions.

When I first introduce athletes to Sport Psych I ask them three questions.
1) Think about your really good performances. If you broke it down in percentage points how much do you think your good performance was influenced by mentally being ready and in the Zone? (usually I get responses ranging from 50% on up)
2) Think about your really bad performances. How much of those were influenced by just being mentally off? (usually I get responses that are even higher)
3) Final question (which is the kicker). How much time do you spend practicing mental skills? (usually a big fat zero)

You hear from commentators all the time that certain athletes are mentally tough. But, how exactly do you get that way? Well, some are just born with more ability but still have to hone it. But, anyone can get better at it. Sarah Palin is one of those gifted people that is tough in just about every way you can think of, including mentally. Here are some of the skills that I feel like she has and is, especially recently, practicing more of.

Individualized Zone of Optimal Functioning (IZOF)
IZOF is often just referred to as being in the Zone. A lot of people make the assumption that the Zone experience is one that is just happenstance. But, the reality is that you can put yourself in the best position to have a Zone experience by knowing what works best for you. The Individualized part is absolutely key. One of the problems that political pundits have is that they think they know what is best for each politician. Well, they don’t. There is no cookie cutter Zone that works for everybody because everybody is different. I know it sounds simple, but some people just can’t seem to get that common sense thinking in their heads. Some athletes perform best when they are at peace with the world. Some athletes perform best when they have a chip on their shoulder. There are as many different IZOF’s as there are people.
Now I cannot say specifically what Sarah Palin’s IZOF is (unless she wanted to sit down with me and go through the assessment, dream on Jordan dream on). But, I do think there are a couple of features that can be pretty easily identified.
Sarah Palin performs best when her priorities are set straight. God, family and country seem to be her rock, and when they are her focus she does well. She seems to perform at her best when she is able to communicate directly with people. This trait has been quite hampered especially following the campaign. She seems to perform best when she is confident and at peace with who she is and what she stands for. She also seems to perform well when she is fighting for others, or in Mama Grizzly mode. I would love to hear other peoples thoughts on what may be some more attributes of her IZOF.
I think her recent decision is part of getting herself back into the position to be in the Zone, especially nationally.

Goal Setting
When I teach goal setting I break it down to three different types of goals.

1) Outcome Goals. The Outcome Goal is the longest, farthest reaching ultimate goal. It is the dream that we reach for. The example I use for this is the outcome goal for most Olympic athletes is to win a gold medal. It is absolutely essential that they have that goal so that they can feel inspired to work through the more tedious goals in order to get there. The Outcome of an Olympic race is not always in the control of the individual athlete though. You cannot control the performances of your competitors for instance. You cannot control the weather or the track conditions etc. So, in order to best put yourself in a position to achieve your Outcome Goal you need to have other goals that you are working for, that are more in your control.
2) Performance Goals. Performance Goals are more individually driven. They are things that you know you can accomplish as an individual regardless of what other competitors may be doing. An example of this is a specific time that a track athlete will attempt to run. They can set a goal that is achievable which also puts them in a good position to get that gold medal should they be successful in running that time. In order to best put yourself in the position to achieve your performance goals you have to condition yourself, physically, technically and mentally.
3) Process Goals. These are the day to day things, and sometimes more tedious ones that need to be achieved in order to achieve your Performance Goal and hopefully, ultimately, your Outcome Goal. The process goals include things like amount of sleep, strength and conditioning training, nutrition regiments. These are the goals that we as fans don’t see, but which are absolutely essential to the success of athletes. The Outcome Goal inspires a person to go through the grunt work of the Process Goals. And the Process Goals make the Performance Goal and eventually the Outcome Goal.

So what are Sarah Palin’s goals? Only Sarah and her closest peeps know. But, we can take our educated guesses at what some might be. I for one honestly do not believe that her biggest Outcome, dream goal is to be President of the United States. I believe that her biggest Outcome Goal is for a safe, strong, secure America. This is where so many of the political pundits are off base. She is driven to help make America a better place for her family, for Alaskans and for all Americans. The Presidency might be like a Sub-Outcome Goal, or you might even consider it a Performance Goal, if that is indeed something she desires. But, again I believe she is driven, at the most basic level to serve the nation for the betterment of the nation, not for her own personal ambitions. She has a servant’s heart. Performance Goals right now probably include things like putting out an excellent book (I’m so looking forward to that), getting more involved with grassroots movements and probably getting her voice out there on specific issues like Life and the caring of children with special needs. I think she is probably excellent on achieving daily Process Goals. She takes care of herself physically, mentally and even spiritually. I hope she is also studying a lot and keeping up with current situations and formulating her own specific, clear stances on issues. I have no doubt she will continue to do the day to day things that best put her in a position to achieve her goals.

Teamwork
Sarah Palin comes from an individual sports background (running) and also a team sports background (basketball). Having skill sets in both types is awesome. We know she is individually driven to achieve success, but she also knows how to work with a team. That is an important characteristic for her success. I love the fact that she was the point guard. She directs the flow of play, the control of the offense and such, but she also is the one that passes the ball if needed, and encourages others to play their part. The most important team to her right now, I think, is her family. Todd Palin is one awesome man. I think he sets the absolute standard for political spouses. He is 100% supportive and is a rock. Her children also are an inspiration for her. Her children are the reason she started politics in the first place at the PTA. But, she does have some great team members outside of the family. I am increasingly impressed with good people like Meg Stapleton and also Thomas Van Flein. She has a good team in place, and will continue to inspire and be inspired by them.

Well, I could go on and on about Sport Psychology and how it relates to just about anything. Ask family and friends they will confirm :) Bottom line, Sarah Palin already has some incredible skills. We have seen them in action and seen her be successful. The best predictor of success is previous success, and the best roadmap to success is to use the things that work best for you individually. If that means being unconventional, than be unconventional. She is one of those rare athletes/politicians that uses all of her strengths including the mental ones in practice and in performance. I think she is putting herself in the best position to use those strengths to best achieve what she hopes will be a better stronger America. I for one look forward to not just being a spectator but a part of her team in whatever way that I can.
